reflection

This school year came and gone like a blink of an eye. This school year I made so friends and very little enemies. Everyone told me that high school was hard at the beginning, and they were wrong it was pretty easy. However there have been a few changes in my life. When I look back I used to be outgoing, loud, social able, and didn’t loose touch with friends that I knew for a while. For example I went downtown and to south Philadelphia everyday just to hangout with my friends. But now since I got to parkway I became less sociable, kind of less outgoing, sheltered and didn’t want to hangout with my friends Isaiah, Nia, Michelle, and Nyree. For instance I no longer barely want to go out to south Philadelphia. Furthermore I think the change hasn’t been good since I do miss all of my old friends from my past middle school. I think during this school year it has put a strain on all of my friendships with them since I started becoming a close circle friend person. I believe high school wasn’t a challenge but it was more of a challenge keeping up with friends that go to other schools.  The person I am now is a more cautious about who I talk to and who not to trust in this life. My relection now is some people from my first year of high school help make me into the person i am today. i think they kind of changed me for the better since i used to be a person who was all about drama and getting in trouble with the in crowd but now i surround myself with somewhat positive mined
people who know when im upset or supper happy. i believe this first year of high school has been a roller coster for me and made me realize im less social with old friends and I gained 2 new ones who are keeping me grounded enough to see the good things in life as a better person and better friend and whats good about parkway west.

Pearl Jam, Skrillex, Santigold to headline Jay-Z’s Made in America fest in Philly

today on may 24th 2012, in class i was reading an article about rapper jay-z is going to have a big concert on september first and second . with many star studded music artist to perform and headline for the "Made In America"  festival in philadelphia. http://www.philly.com/philly/entertainment/music/20120522_Pearl_Jam__Skrillex__Santigold_to_headline_Jay-Z_rsquo_s_Made_in_America_fest_in_Philly.html ,   according to the article pearl jam will headline the made in america concert , along side rapper jay-z. music performs is skrillex who happens to be the face of dubstep. Maybach Music Group , which is the hip-hop alliance taking over in music world features phily native Meek Mill, Washington very own Wale,  and the Miami boss Rick Ross. furthermore the list of performers goes on from  1990's r&b singer D'angelo, to indie-rock band Dirty Projector, pop artist janelle MonĂ¡e and Santigold,  and maybe rapper drake , and philly's own the Roots lastly contentious music group odd future will be performing also.urthermore in the article jay-z said in an interview “in The Inquirer in an interview last week that “Made in America” would be wide-ranging and “very diverse” musically.” Meaning that many artist from all genres of music will be able to bring philadelphia a one of a kind night full of music. the festival will be at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on Labor Day. this will be one of the biggest events in philadelphia.  according to the article the event till attract about 50,00 people by the end of the week more performances will be announced later on.. the two day made in america event tickets go on sale for about $99 and for vip is about $655.

I think the event will bring a lot of diversity of people to Philadelphia. This bring everyone together in the way , even though  it will be different genres their. this summer will be one of the best summers personally since mostly all of the artist i listen to are going to be here on a two day festivial.

getting angry can be a good thing

Today in journalism class on May 14, 2012 we read this example of “I Believe” this essay is named getting angry can be a good thing. It was mainly about a woman named Cecillia Munoz writing about a time she remembers when a family friend  told her that if they united states goes to war in latin America , and told her that her parents belong in an internment camp just like the Japanese-americans during world war II. Which sparked her to be angry at the situation which inspired her to work  as an advocate . she helped 5o immigrant families in a day, the faces of the five who didn’t qualify haunted her dreams at night. Knowing that she couldn’t help everyone still made her angry and try to strive to help everyone. Furthermore she said “ you have victories but your defeats outnumber them by far, and you remember the names and faces of those who lost. This means that even though she may have many victories and reunite American families with their immigrant family , there are still some challeges and battles she cannot win. Also she stated “ I deeply familiar with that hollow place that outrage carves in your soul; I’ve fed off of it to sustain my work for may years. This means that knowing those circumstances she feds off it and becomes angry which inspires her to do the right thing and try to help bring families together even if her part of helping is small. She still tries to do the right thing.
I personally disagree with her belif of being angry all the time could actually help bring something positive. Since mostly when im angry , my intensions and actions are very negative not positive when someone makes me angry. Not many can think or do something positive once someone tells them oh you can do nothing your just a kid or even say your this or that when someone  judges you it makes you angry and do something destructive.

broadcast a world of whiteness

today on may 8th, 2012 i read an article about how televison may not be diverse with other than white americans. The article was written by Jon Caramanica. according to the article " whitenes is too often invisible on television , so much the so that this fact is hardly pointed out. Also “ television is nowhere near diverse enough- not in its actors , its writers or its show runners. big  tv networks such as Fox , ABC, NBC, and CBS do not have many shows that have a diverse cast is because some white americans out in the world don’t want to see that. Those big tv networks producers believe in just what is going to catch most of the public eye if they have celebrities and an young cast or unique group of actors it attracts a lot of mostly white americans. For instance “Fox” has “Glee”, which has some diverse but the cast members have small parts in each episode. NBC has “30 rock” and “ Community”. Both of these networks share something in common they both offer prime time tv shows that are popular due to the lack of diverse cast and the fact that each tv network main goal is to make sure that each tv show is earning the network a lot of money. The television producers have a lot of responsibility  to put on shows that have diverse cast , but some are too afraid the network would lose some viwers due to the cast. So the producers give into what I stated before is they give into what the public eye wants.
I have watched the animated cartoon named “ American Dad” the episode was based on black history and they make racial slurs all the time in each episode. I honestly don’t respect the show and it’s a disgrace to everyone.  The tv show is shown on fox and the entire cast is white.

gun fashion

today may,1,2012 my journalism teacher told us in the near future clothing lines are considering making clothes to fit guns. the trend its self doesnt sound like it would end good since now todays youth are doing more dangerous things than back in the day. in some states its legal for people to carry guns. but it could cause problems since many already carry fire arms without a permit or legal papers to carry and cause many problems. the idea of more people carrying and clothing lines are creating gun fashion just doesnt seem like it would end well since more guns on street or on people would just add up to more violence. i dont think americans shouldnt be allowed to carry guns since many use them to kill for personal reasons just because of beef's or even just because of family members having problems with that person. i think gun laws are too permissive in many ways on the youth and elders in america. the laws arent to restrictive since if they were trayvon martin wouldnt have died and george zimmerman wouldnt had've a fire arm since he was a past offender of violence against the law. if more people carried guns there would be more crime rising than in the last 20 years. criminals wouldnt be scared they would just be more cautious and plan out more ways to get what they want. not all criminals arent all simple minded. gun fashion would just encourage the youth to disobey more laws and own fire arms and use them on other americans they dont like or even just play with them causing danger to themseleves and others.

health fair

yesterday april 12th philadelphia high school parkway west had a health fair that was created by 12th graders for the whole school. the fair had tables that had different topics at each table. for example at the health fair one table a 12th grade student was giving out panthlets about whats the difference between a std and an sti. did you know that a std stands for a sexually transmitted disease. and a sti stands for a sexually transmitted infection. the table gave alot of information about std awareness. the rapid increase of stds between ages 10 and 18. lets teens know what are stds , and how to prevent and protect yourself from getting them. other tables had a topic about abortion , and how to stop abortion. the table gave out a panthlet about there are other options that abortion. did you know many think abortion is killing a life. the panthlet gives information about adpotion. the panthlet gives information about how to look for the right family for your child to be raised by. and information about giving your child up for adoption is a good thing in the long run since some good people are unable to conceive children their self. then at another table it raises awareness of staying in good shape and staying healthy. at that table Urban nutrition initative Mr.Byran gives out oranges and gives out a magazine on great tips for teens to make a healthier dinner for themseleves. did you know obesity is becoming more popular for teens between the ages of 13 through 19. however at another table they gave out condoms and lubricate just incase the teens want to have sex in the future. other tables gave out information about parents being overprotective parents and how sometimes its not allowing and preparing the child to get ready for the real life without depending on their parents for everything. Joel Austin teaches fathers to be fathers and has classes at west philadelphia Ymca on 52 street every tuesday. one other table was named health start it helps young mothers get help while at the early stages of their pregnancies. they offer an support system , resources , gives information about pregnancy. asks the mothers if they have health insurance so they can find ways to help them and their unborn child or their newborns.
i think this health fair was an opener for other students that are in the same age frame and grade as me. 9 times out of 10 some parents may not think their child is not doing drugs , having sex unprotected, over weight and may face the chances of getting type 2 dietbeats. even though i have been witnessed of my closest friends getting pregnant because they didnt think about use a condom or even thinking about birth control , i have seen my friends get abortion after abortion several times. i have lots of friends that dont think about the cautions of having unprotected sex and either end up with H.I.V or even other life threatning Std's.

Miss Universe Canada Disqualifies Transsexual Contestant: She was Born a Boy

i was reading an article on yahoo.com today on march 27,2012 and one of the main top stories was on
Miss Universe Canada Disqualifies Transsexual Contestant: She was Born a Boy.http://shine.yahoo.com/beauty/miss-universe-Canada-disqualifies-transsexual-contestant-she-born-192000420.html
the article is mostly about one of the miss universe contestants that was representing Canada and she was disqualified because she was not actually born a woman and was actually born a man. " Miss Universe Canada officials have banned 23-year-old transsexual Jenna Talackova from participating in the pageant finals to be held in Toronto in May, 2012. The Vancouver contestant was one of sixty-five women chosen to compete in the national contest" and also the article states " Reports say that Denis Davila, national director of Miss Universe Canada, asserts that every contestant must be a "naturally born female." Critics of the decision claim that the rules do not specifically address sex change or plastic surgery." furthermore the article also stated that  “Talackova is calling it a human rights issue. She says that she knew she was a girl by age four, Ms Jenna had sex reassignment surgery at the age of nineteen. Talackova had previously competed in both transsexual and women's beauty pageants, however after this its not going to stop her from continuing her dream of showing the world her destin beauty she dreamed to be at the age of four.from yahoo.com
Discriminating a person just because they were born the opposite gender than what they believe they are or even as like is completely wrong all together , transgender people have feelings and act like us. we’re all human so we should all be treated the same , no different than the other. http://shine.yahoo.com/healthy-living/sex-change-women-allowed-enter-miss-universe-175900662.html today on April 10th the story about Jenna Talackova had been nationalized maybe not as big as trayvon martin but its big . she made her debut on TV on good morning America , because she wasn't allowed to compete in miss universe pageants she has now changed how the world views transgenders participating in miss universe contest, due to her now transgenders are allowed to participate in the miss universe contest.

Man On The Run Has Time To Update His Facebook While on the run

today april 10th 2012, on yahoo.com i read an article about a washington man on the run from police updates his criminal activity on the social media site " Facebook". 26 year old Travis A. Nicolaysen was on the run from police since two nights ago accroding to the article " He was convicted of 5 felonies including domestic violence, burglary and theft of a firearm, police said. He is wanted by the Washington state Department of Corrections for failing to check in with his community corrections officer since January. Nicolaysen had posted on his Facebook account "'got away thanks bro'. furthermore Travis A. Nicolaysen posted to his account: "Cops all over you."family members and friends advised him to keep on the run from police and family members tell Travis to turn himself in so he could set an example for his children. also according to the article Travis was reportedly been accused of assaulting his girlfriend on March 28, police said. Better make that his ex-girlfriend. In a post Saturday, Nicolaysen changed his relationship status to single  due to the altercation. The article also goes on to state that police have already issued a warrant out for Nicolaysen arrest and are watching his Facebook account for any clues to where he may be. The article went on to state “Facebook tells its users that it may share certain information if it gets requests from law enforcement, and that it does have some ability to track people via IP addresses and GPS location. Serving Facebook with a search warrant is a possibility, but there are no immediate plans for that, Smith said. For now, police hope the publicity alone may be enough to flush him out in a city the size of Port Angeles, which has a population of 19,000 and is about 65 miles northwest of Seattle on the Olympic Peninsula."In a smaller community, it's harder to disappear and be anonymous," Smith said. "We're hoping people who know him call police.
I think this man ( Travis ) should have been arrested . especially since his town isn’t that big so the police should be able to find him easily since the family and friends were making comments on his facebook which result in the police watching his account for his trace of his recent movements. Which hasn’t gotten them far, they need to talk to friends and family members and even his ex-girlfriend who accused him of assaulting her.

Trayvon Martin , Miami Heat Takes A Stand For Trayvon Martin

i was reading an article on necolebitchie.com about trayvon martin. trayvon martin was a 17 year old teen who was killed just 100 yards away from the house he was staying at. trayvon fit the stereo-type description of most black males , he wore a gray hoodie with the hood up walking home when he was being followed by a fellow neighborhood watchman. unfortunately his killer the watchman wasn't arrested because he told police that he shot him in self-defense.on February 26,2012 trayvon martin was killed, now shortly a month later his death shocked the world it started a massive outrage all over the world. now each media site such as facebook, twitter, and tumbler, or even YouTube. everyone has taken part of the take a stand for trayvon , now theres shirts and hoodies being made with his picture on it. now everyday theres more and more evidence being brought to light about this outrage. some are even comparing this to the Emmett teel case which ended with his killers being let go and trayvon killer never being arrested. celebrities and NBA stars are all over taking a stand for trayvon which is shown on necolebitchie.com.the entire Miami Heat are all wearing gray hoodies and have their hoods up in honor of trayvon. honestly this has just set us back another 50 something years for what happen. this outbreak wouldn't have happened if the Florida state law was "Shot first then ask questions".". This case shouldn’t have lasted this long for this many weeks of the parents of martin not being able to sleep with the neighbor hood watchman being allowed to live each day without the burden of guilt of shooting their son. Or even the second thought of why should he kill the teen. The neighborhood watchman was recorded by the police just simply profiling the martin for no apparent reason at all. The watchman should have simply let the police handle it instead of following the teen and taking matters into his own hands. Obvious there is no justice in this at all and this will be dragged out for many more months until the watchman is arrested for killing trayvon martin.

For Women under 30, most births occur outside marriage

today march 12th ,2012 we read an article in class about the increase of children being born outside of a marriage, and that marriage is less common now. the article was written by Jason Deparle and Sabrina , Tavernise. the article takes place lorain , Ohio. in the article it states "Among mothers of all ages, a majority--59 percent in 2009-- are married when they have children. but the surge of births outside marriages  among younger women -- nearly two thirds of children  in the united states  are born to mothers under 30 -- is both a symbol of the transforming family and a hint of coming generational change." furthermore in the article it stated " by the mid-1990s, such figures looked quaint: a third of americans were born outside marriage. Congress largely blame welfare , imposed tough restrictions . now the figure 41 percent and 53 percent  for children born to women under 30 , according to child trends . which analyzed 2009 data from the national center for health statistics.  Also in the article it states “in lorain as eles where , explantions for martial decline start with home economics: men are worth less than they used to be. Among men with some college but no degrees, earings have fallen 8 percent in the past 30  years , according to the bureau of labor statistics, while the earinings of their female counterparts have risen by 8 percent.
I think the article is true about now mostly every female under 30 is having children without being married. Its because most guys or females are usually living in sin and well living together are usually the ones to get pregnant but then often times they break up which ends in a single parent. Most females under the age of 30 don’t need a guy/boy-friend/man to be there and help pay for the bills and take care  their children. Now and days publicized marriages aren’t very popular within a lot of place and communities. I don’t really have an opinion on whether it’s a good thing for women to have a child or children outside of a marriage. It’s a very bad trend because not a lot of women under 30 that are educated higher than high school or even get to go to college. I don’t expect to get married in the future because marriage is a burden and it changes everything. I don’t think I would wait till I was married to start having children. Honestly I would like to but I know it wouldn’t happen.

Thousands of spiders blanket Australian farm after escaping flood

i was reading an article on yahoo.com the link is (http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/thousands-spiders-blanket-Australian-farm-escaping-flood-165958059.html). the article was about how wolf spiders had taken over a place called wagga wagga in Australia. according to the article the spiders took over the land rather than stay in their own habitat because of the flooding. in the article it states " the Reuters reports that the flooding forced 8,000 people out of their homes. it was reported that for each temporarily displaced person , several types of spiders took over and ballooning usual for spiders to escape rising water. quoted from the passage, "Thankfully for local residents, the occupying arachnids are not likely to set up permanent residence, a la the 1977 William Shatner clunker Home of the spiders."  according to the weather reports say the flood waters in Wagga Wagga have begun reducing. this means that locals will soon be returning to their homes and the wolf spiders will also be returning to their natural underground habitats.
And it turns out the spiders are actually doing quite a bit of good while setting up shop above ground. The spiders are feasting on mosquitoes and other insect populations that have boomed with the increased moisture brought about by the rising waters.
i think that this is very odd for spiders to do to human lands. how can theses 8,000 people come back if their homes have been transformed into a thousand spider ballooning festival. i feel like this would be a serious challenge once the flooding completely goes down. would the spiders stay or go back to their natural underground habitats.

Facebook is using you

Today in class we read an article called “Facebook is using you” by Lori Andrews. The article was about how people of all ages use social media sites such as Facebook, twitter, blogger, tumbler, and more social sites, some of things you post can be used against you in the future. The author of this article wants a law to be passed, just like Europe saying it’s illegal to track a person and judge them from their history online, and make them less creditable for jobs, and less their credit limit. Each of these sites all have something in common, they all consist of personal data yours and mine. The article gets more into detail about all these sites are making money. In the article it states “ads that pop up on your screen might seem useful, or at worst, a nuisance. But they are much more than that. The bits and bytes about your life can easily be used against you. Whether you can obtain a job, credit, or insurance can be based on your online profile- and you may never know why you`ve been turned down”. Furthermore the article states “  your application for credit could be declined not on the basis of your own finances or credit history , but on the basis of your online data- what other people whose likes and dislikes are similar to yours have done. When divorcing couples are more likely to not pay their credit-card bills, then the fact that you`ve looked at ads or sent an e-mail to a divorce lawyer might cause a bank to classify you as less credit-worthy. Also in the article it states that there are laws in Europe about it being illegal for companies to look you up from your online data and judge your character from your “cookies”.
I think it’s completely wrong for companies to judge you from what you looked up or even posted on social media sites such as Facebook, twitter, tumbler, blogger and others. These companies are demeaning people and making it harder for some people who are less likely to have a high credit limit. With companies picking and choosing to go through a person’s pass history such as cookies without letting the person know its violating free of speech. I think now im more concerned of what I post online because now I know it could come back and be used against me in the end.

today febuary 21st 2012,  on cnn news website in the health section  i read an article about women are more likely to die in an hospital after a heart attack. the article is named woman are more like to die in the hostipital after a heartattack , study finds. the article study showed that " nearly every 34 seconds in the united states as a heart attack , according to the american heart association. the article went on to state that heart diseasese is the number one killer for men and women in the united states. furthermore, in the article the study it showed that women are more likely than men to show up at hospital without classic chest pains sypmtoms that are very know for heart attacks. " researches used data from more than 1 million paitients in the national regsitry of myocardial infraction. in a large nation database of heart attack patients from about 1,600 acute care hospitals in the U.S. woman were comprised 42 percent of the study. moreover " among the study particitpaints , females presenting with heart attack were slightly older than males , averaging 74 years old compared to an 67 years old for men. according to the study women were less likely to have chest pains and discomfort. while 42 percent of women compared to only 30.7 of men without chest pains. however age also plays a factor for sympotoms in hositpal deaths for females were 14.6 percent while compared to males 10.3 percent. the article concludes that more research may need to be done to fully indicate specially what causes the sympotomes between the age groups and sexes.

i think after reading the article i some what understand where its thought that males are more likely to have heartattacks. however i think that some of its research is a bit of  is a bit off since , more males do undur more stress than females. genticially  speaking sometimes someone who has chest pains, genetics offten pass from previous elder family members to that person .  so what that being said from actually witnessing and from family history , I kind of agree with the article but not fulley. With my family history mostly the females are the ones to have an heart attack , and or chest pains. Which conclude in death in hospitals. honestly
it depends on the family history and genetics.

In class on Tuesday on February 14, in 2012 we read an article named “I’m a criminal and so are you. The article is mostly about being a criminal since mostly everyone committed crimes but were never caught yet while others were caught for their crimes and once were released from prison they are treated unfairly and aren’t allowed in some states to vote, get a job, or even get a house. For example from the article it states “in this country, we force millions of people- who are largely black and brown- into a permanent second class status, simply because they once committed a crime. Once labeled a felon, you are ushered into a parrel social universe. You be denied the right to vote, automatically, excluded from juries and legally discriminated against in employment, housing, and access to education and public benefits - forms of discrimination that we supposedly left behind. The article also went on to state that the author of the article Michelle Alexander “I doubt Barack Obama thinks of himself as a criminal, though he should. He has admitted to using illegal drugs during his college year’s lots in fact. What if he thought of himself as a criminal? What if he identified that way? Would it lead him to feel a bit more compassion for those who are branded drug felons for life, unable to find work or housing, and deemed ineligible even for food stamps”
I think that some criminals that are branded for the crimes they do and will never really get past that for some people in the world. I personally know some people that have in and out of jail and it’s hard for them now since they have to try to restart their lives and live their lives like everyone else when the law permits them from getting a second chance at outside life. It’s very sad that people think once a criminal always a criminal. Furthermore I think everyone really is a criminal since everyone has committed petty crimes that weren’t caught by the law

Photoshop or Not? A Tool to Tell

today in class i read an article about pictures of famous celerbrities and people being heavliy photoshoped in popular fashion magazines and advertisements. in the article it states that the retouching can be slight - colors brightened , a stray hair put in place , a pimple healed. or it can be drastic - shedding 10 to 20 pounds off , increasing a few inches in hieght and erasing all wrinkles and blemishes , done using adobe`s photoshop software , the photo retoucher `s magic wand. furthermore the article is mostly about Dr.farid and Eric Kee , a Ph.D. student doing researching and proposing that it should offer proportions to show how much the photo has been altered. " such images , research suggests , contribute to eating to eating disorders and anxiety about body types, especially among young females".   the research pin pointed Mr. Seth Matlins a former talent agent and marketing  executive was said to be a big part of the self esteem act. Mr. Matlins said “ were not trying to demonize photoshop or prevent creative people from using it. But if a person`s image is drastically changed , there should be a reminder that what you`re seeing is about as true as what you saw in the Si-Fi movie “ Avatar”.

I think that seeing pictures of favorite celebrities in fashion magazines that shows them with compelet perfection and no blemishes at all is just contributing to some teens and young females feeling low about their seleves since they look at them at see everything they don’t have. Such as perfect clear skin , perfect teeth , beautifuk smile , amazing hour glass body or a very curvy body like famous female raptress “Nicki Minaj”. as I stated before seeing pictures contributes to their low self esteem making the young female feel as though shes not beautiful or good enough to do anything. Thus an eating disorder occurs which either results in death or being very ill. I think that pictures should be labled if their photoshoped because be honest . so many singers and songs were created for people to feel better about their selves and making them feel beautiful. It’s a contradiction for magazines to state what is beautiful and what is not beautiful when their publishing heavily photoshoped pictures of their models. They should lable what is photoshoped and whats not to be honest to their cusmores.

In China , Human Cost Are Built Into an Ipad

On February 1st in class we read an article about factories in china exploding killing workers and injuring some people. The factories were miss-treating workers that assemble IPhones, IPads, and other Apple products. The safety of workers weren’t important. The article went to say that more troubling, the group is some suppliers disregard for workers health. According to the article it states those two years ago, 137 workers at an apple supplier in eastern china were injured after they were ordered to use a poisonous chemical to clean iPhone screens. The article also went on to state that within seven months last year two explosions at IPad factories, including in Chengdu, killed four people and injured 77, before those blasts , apple had alerted to hazardous conditions inside the Chengdu plant, according to a Chinese group that released the warning. Furthermore apple didn’t take the full on responsibility of the safety of their overseas manufactures workers in their factories.  According to the article apple isn’t the only big name companies  that are doing business like that. Big companies doing business like that such as Motorola, Nokia, Sony, Toshiba and others. These big manufactures are ignoring the health and safety of their workers in their factories overseas by suppliers improperly disposed of hazardous waste and falsified records, to avoid their consumers stop being their products knowing that their device from apple was made by someone who almost nearly lost their life or someone who was injured while making my IPhone or IPad and or even IPod.
I think that some big companies that are doing business like apple factories in china are wrong for what they`re doing. While making money their also endangering the lives of their workers each day when the workers are working on making these products as fast as they can produce with the hazardous chemicals they are around every day all day. If customers knew how they got their apple or other devices made overseas I think a small percentage would even protest about this and stop buying these products but the big percentage wouldn’t even take the time out to even be bothered or even care about it.

Cracking Teenagers 'Online Codes

i read an article in the New York Times by Pamela Paul. the article was about a 34 year old woman named Danah Boyd. the article went on to say that the woman named Dr.Boyd who is a senior research at Microsoft, an assistant professor at new york university and a fellow at the Berkman center for Internet society at Harvard.  Dr.Boyd studied in social media culture for teens.in the article she goes on to say that parents and school district, and schools worry about students and teenagers posting their relationship status, emotional state or feelings, cyber bullying , posting inappropriate images online. the article goes on to say that when teens go on social media sites. Dr.Boyd thinks that teens ability to explore and roam on their own has been destroyed by parents that worry too much. also "letting  your child out to bike around the neighborhood is seen as terrifying now, even though by all measures , life is safer for kids today". in the article she went on to say that "we need to give kids the freedom to explore and experience things online that might actually help them".
I personally think that some what Dr.Boyd is stating is true but however most parents have these worries because most teens and children aren't being raised in those days where there weren't a lot of worries about predators. rather than now when it depends on the neighborhood your raising your child in. the neighborhood could be the worst and could worry who would try to hurt my child. most parents try their best to shut teenagers inside the home and from the Internet rather their child outside enjoying the day and being youthful and gain experiences.

Mother arrested for allowing her 10 year old get tatted

an article on madamenoire.com  and yahoo.com video the article was about a mother in Georgia allowing her 10 year old son get a tattoo. the 10 year old boy showed up to school showing off his new body art to other student and the teachers alerted the police about the 10 year old boy tattoo. Chuntera Napier the mother of the ten year old allowed to get the tattoo out of memory of their lose for her older son back in 2010. the older brother had been killed by a teen driver. the ten year asked his mother could he get a tattoo saying Malik rest in peace with his Jersey number on his arm. the mother Napier admits to taking her 10 year old to the tattoo parlor. the mother also went on to say "i always thought it was legal to allow a minor to get a tattoo with the consent from their legal guardian but in 2010 the new law states "it shall be unlawful for any person to tattoo the body of any person to tattoo the body of any person under the age 18.
i think that any teen or child should be able to express them selves with body art. but i don't think that it should be against the law for anyone under 18 to get a tattoo. tattoos are work of body art they all have many different meanings. i believe what the mother of the 10 year old boy did wasn't very smart , she shouldn't had allowed the 10 year old to get a tattoo. she should had told her son , she would allowed him to get the tattoo once he turned 18 or well 17 or 16 just older than a young innocent age. the tattoo makes this little boy seem like his young addilesson innocent age of youth of his generation seem not so innocent.

Teaching Kids How to breakup Nicely Response

The article teaching kids how to breakup nicely by Benoit Lewis is about healthy breakups and whats not healthy. Break ups tend to happen on social media sites. The article stated that the high school had a  group meeting with high scholars. In the group discussion they debated on the fact breakups tend to end not healthy rather than a civilized way. In the article some of the breakups tend to happen on facebook , twitter , tumbler and more. Furthermore the in the article the adult facilitator who wore a blue “face it, don’t facebook it” in a reference to the apparently  troubling trend of young people breaking up with one another via social media. I think its very immature for teens to post that their single when their still friends with their ex. Also if you change your relationship status on social media sites such as facebook and more, your just upsetting the other person you just broke up with. Or even when teens defriend their exes or block them , delete their number. Another example in the article it stated healthy examples of celebrity breakups such as Cameron diaz , and Justin timberlake. the article also stated that one celebrity unhealthy breakup that the public witnessed was the famous rapper Kanye West and video vixen Amber Rose had a bad public split that which fans of Kanye  West were bashing the video vixen Amber . The famous rapper even wrote song lyrics which bashed Amber Rose. For instance in the article it stated a trend in high school , dating while in school. In the article one student stated “dating in school is for suckers , your just bring your peers into your relationship with the other person which always ends in stress or heartbreak”. Therefore , even dating in high school adds drama since young people tend to make each of their relationships end unhealthy and it becomes awkward being around the other person. i think breakups don't really end well for teens or even adults and even celebrities there is always going to be that civilized to end the relationship very civilized

One Of the Biggest Stories of 2011 that agitated many Matt Gutman

One of the biggest stories of the year 2011 is the conviction of Casey Anthony. it was the biggest upset of the year.   the case was compared to the O.J Simpson case. the case took about 3 years to finally get a verdict. On July,5 , 2011 Casey was found Not guilty. Casey Anthony was reported to have resurfaced by relaesing video diaries of her self this past week. on abc news reported by Dan Kloeffler ,Matt Gutman, and Christina Ng.
I think Casey Anthony and her mother deserve to put in jail for about 25 years to life for killing the Caylee Anthony. the small girl would be six years old  if she was still alive. the small girl life was taken from her when she was only three years old. During the trail the grandmother lies for Casey to cover the fact that Casey looked up chloroform on the family's computer. the mother lied for Casey because she didn't want her only daughter in jail. originally the mother was all against her daughter , telling detectives that her daughter car smelled like a dead body was in Casey car. Also that Anthony's mother was the one to even report that she hadn't seen Caylee in 31 days to police. i think Casey Anthony should have been court ordered to have her tubes tided so she couldn't reproduce another child and kill them. No one will ever really know what had happen to poor sweet Caylee but some people were in such disbelief they had created a memorial in the forest near the crime seen where her body remains were located. one day hopefully justice will be served and Caylee's murderer will be brought to light.
